Love in Action

Our identity in Christ is active and lived out through real expressions of love, especially toward those in need. Stewardship flows from this identity — not as a once-a-year obligation, but as a continual way of making Christ’s love visible through generosity and service. Though we often choose comfort or delay action, Jesus models bold, self-giving love and invites us to ask what God is calling us to today, even when it challenges cultural expectations.

As a church community, we are called to show love in action both within our congregation and beyond our walls. Reflecting on how our presence shapes the community — and what would be missing if we were gone — helps us see our mission more clearly. Seeing stewardship as an ongoing practice could awaken us spiritually and help us become a “gentle alarm clock” for one another and for our neighborhood.

We celebrate the many ways our church has already embodied 1 John 3 through compassion and service, and we look for ways to continue growing. Consider opportunities like a mission or ministry Sunday, where everyone participates in hands-on service. In all of this, we seek to be a community where Christ’s love is not only believed but lived.
